The concept

Merged scout music as an instrument of pan-European understanding

The ScoutingTrain Orkestar is supposed to be a forty headed ensemble of scouts from Eastern Europe and Germany. Out of the variety styles of music in the international scout-scene we will write and study polyphonic vocal and instrumental arrangements. Those will be presented on a tour through Russia, aswell as in Berlin for the anniversary celebrations of the "25years fall of the Berlin Wall", to a diversified international audience. To document the created arrangements and to publish them, there will emerge a songbook and a CD.

The ScoutingTrain Orkestar unites music-making scouts from Poland, Russia, Germany and Kazakhstan. With a fusion of international scoutish folk music we put our share to the intercultural exchange. Through the mutual musical work this exchange will be made possible and unite the living musical culture of international scouts for the first time.

Our goal is to create an ensemble with polyphonic voices aswell as an entire instrumentation (brass, strings, percussion, bass & guitar, etc.) After the choosing of the participants, the project can be divided in four phases.
